East Indigo Homes began as a growing culmination of ideas and conversations about how business could be done for the common good. These are the principles that guide the way we do business.
MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL
We do not believe in "zero sum" deals. That is, we do not believe our gain must be someone else's loss. We believe in mutually beneficial business practices. A deal has to be good for all involved: our sellers, buyers, contractors, agents, and the neighborhood. We believe this business can be a vehicle to pursue the common good where all prosper and flourish.
We ask these questions regularly:
-
Is this good for the seller?
-
Is this good for the buyer?
-
Is this good for the neighborhood?
-
Is this good for our contractors?
-
Is this good for the agents?
THE COMMON GOOD
We believe real estate is uniquely positioned to solve problems and pursue good. When one takes a historic view, Real Estate, is uniquely tied to many problems and abuses. Poverty, gainful employment, affordable housing, crime, economic justice, racial justice, and environmental challenges all have ties to real estate. The question becomes: Even if in just a small way, could we use real estate investment as a vehicle to provide solutions to common problems?
ENGINE FOR GIVING
Not only are we seeking to do good through every project by the way we do business, but we use each project as a vehicle to invest in people and organizations that are doing good. We are committed to directing portions of our proceeds to missions, ministries, and non-profits who are helping to restore people in distress. We support non-profit organizations who work with people in poverty, victims of human trafficking, children in foster care, and orphan care.
